GCH (Grand Champion) Kinvaar Make Pretend, our amazing Kaiden, arrived from breeder Ms. Debbie Kerr in March of 2011. Kaiden flew from Scotland with his brother, Scotty, in the hold of a aircraft to Minneapolis where he was met by his new dad, Tom. Tom and Kaiden then traveled to Iowa City where mom was involved in the final months of her radiology specialty training. Mom had a rough start with Kaiden who had less of a sense of her bed than big brother Duncan. On the first night he was in Iowa City, Kaiden walked off the bed. After that minor mishap, he was seen at Iowa State Veterinary College to calm his mom.

Kaiden is a very energetic Cavalier King Charles Spaniel boy—truly all male.  He is happy, playful, loving, and caring and loves to play with his KilbridesPride Cavalier brothers and sisters. He rarely makes a fuss, not even when sister Sophie pulls him across the room by his ear. All is all, he is a great Cavalier boy to have at home.

After spending some time with big brother Kingsley, Kaiden wanted to try competing in dog shows.  He began his show career in Chicago in February 2012, traveling under an airline seat to reach his destination.  It really has been fun watching Kaiden achieve Grand Champion status, his Best in Specialty Show acknowledgement, and his 2014 Award of Merit at the prestigious Westminster Dog Show in New York City.

In spite of Kaiden’s rigorous show career the past few years, he still loves the sport of showing. Together, Kaiden, Gabby, and Kingsley make quite the trio amongst the hubbub of the show arena.  They have also been joined recently by a few of KBPride’s puppies, KBPride Scottish Warrior (Wellington), KBPride Guinevere (Gwenyth), KBPride Ms Danner (Blythe), and KBPride Royal Maiden (Olivia) who made their debuts at the 2014 ACKCSC Cavalier National Specialty Event in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in April 2014.

Sadly, we had to say ‘good bye’ to our beloved Kaiden late in 2020, just a couple of weeks prior to his eleventh birthday. He had a bowel obstruction which was later diagnosed as lymphoma. We miss our dear boy so very much! However, he lives on through his sweet puppies!
